Hello and Welcome!

I was born and raised on the stoops of Harlem and Washington Heights in the region old school cats call “Little DR.” I fell in love with words at the same time I fell in love with John McEnroe, Charles Barkley, and The Color Purple. And so, my writing has been seasoned with anger, brutal honesty, passion, raw experiences, and sazón. Books, writing, and sports have been my venting tool, my gym, my healing, and every reason why today, I am me and try to be no one else. I am a poet, a lover of books, and a writer of life. 

I love the smell of a new book on a rainy day. The afternoon winds of summer across my face forces all my limbs to stoop into zen. I enjoy good conversations over a savory meal in Washington Heights. The smell of sautéed peppers, onions, and spices communicates to my senses all things familiar. I love sports. It's discipline. Its hunger. The exhaustion of winning. And most of all, after a life living so many lives, I love to laugh.
